Cancellations and Refunds
Reservations canceled after you have been registered for the trip will receive
your trip fee back minus a $100 cancellation fee only if we are able to both:
1) fill your slot, and 2) the trip goes out full. The sooner you inform us of
your need to cancel, the more opportunity we will have to fill the trip and refund
part of your fee. Our mission is stewardship work, and late cancellations, particularly
as a trip date approaches, can make it extremely difficult to find a replacement
at the last minute. We must receive written notification in the office. As
a small nonprofit on a tight budget, Wilderness Volunteers cannot make exceptions
to this refund policy for any reason, including personal emergencies or weather.
If Wilderness Volunteers must cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund.
If we must cancel a trip due to low sign-up or a hazard like a fire, we will
attempt to do so at least 30 days before the trip start date. While it hasn't
happened yet, we might be forced to cancel a trip with less notice although we
will make every effort to run every trip.
Note: Participants on Alaska and Hawaii trips must have paid for their airfare at least two months before the trip and furnish this information to the leaders. We have discovered that folks who do not have firm travel plans by this time often cancel from the trip, and these trips are hard to fill at the last minute.
