The Seven Devils are a rugged, backpacking paradise. Jagged peaks, alpine lakes, lush wildflowers, meadows, and solitude predominate. Its high lakes and streams are filled with trout, and the thick forests and wild rivers of its lower valleys are home to mule deer, elk, and black bear. Bighorn sheep and mountain goats roam the high country. The Seven Devils were named after a Nez Perce Indian legend about a young brave who encountered, one after another, seven devils while hunting in the mountains.

Our project begins with a six-mile backpack into Hibbs Cow Camp.  Hells Canyon NRA will provide pack animal support to haul tools, kitchen gear and group food. Our work will include maintaining the Seven Devils loop trail, Bernard Lakes/Dry Diggins lookout trail, Echo/He Devil Lake and Sheep Lake drainage. Day off activities include swimming in beautiful mountain lakes!
